David Roche is a writer, comic, and actor. Having worked as a programmer following college, David began exploring the nature of beauty and our deep self-image through his experience with facial difference. He widely performs his one-man show "The Church of 80% Sincerity" internationally, as well as giving keynote addresses and appearing in plays. David was born with a vascular malformation on his face, neck, and throat. A series of surgeries and radiation treatments produced his current appearance. Although David's facial difference does not result in any functional disability, he describes that he is nonetheless perceived as being a person with a disability. David and his wife Marlena live in British Columbia, Canada.
